Birthday USA

It is the birthday of America, a holiday for which I am not often around.  Some of us are celebrating by eating a veggie burger (probably unAmerican), potato salad (definitely American) and peach cobbler ('Murica!).  One of us is on a plane to Oaxaca (totally unAmerican.  Why not go to Cabo or Cancun, dude!?  That's the Mexico that doesn't make you exchange precious USD and do simple currency conversion math!).  In honor of America's 238th, I made a fruit flag (American), but put it on a colorful bird plate (most likely unAmerican).   One of us went to bed at 7, and others will probably follow suit by 9 (unAmerican).  I guess I don't know where I stand in terms of superficial signs of American allegiance anymore.  I tried this time--look!

Theo ate 4 of the 9 fruit flag skewers, which gave me a trick for getting him to eat more fruit.  Who knew?--it's a good thing that they only sell skewers in packages of 100! (excess.  100% American!).

We went to the beach last week and here are some pics.
 A sea of yellow flowers!

He was scared of the water after it soaked his legs.
We laid down in the sand a lot and played with plastic things.
 Catching a ride with dada.
