In an effort of keep his advisory students occupied with
useful endeavor, Natan had them grow wildflowers.
In May, we went to his school to admire them
and release Theo’s butterfly into the wild.
(Every year, after the AP exam, I buy caterpillars for my students to
adopt.
This year, I gave the extras to
Theo’s preschool and we kept one at home to watch.
It was a very exciting few weeks).
We tried to take Theo on a horseback ride. He was very excited, until he approached the horse, at which point he peaced out.
Theo’s preschool does a very fun musical Shabbat every
Friday, and the kids get to take turns sitting at the head table as “Abba and
Ima Shabbat”. Theo’s time finally came
at the end of the year, for the one week where there was no girl, so it was “Abba
and Abba Shabbat”. He was great! He turned off the light with gusto, blessed the bread, and drank
his juice at the appropriate moment. (I did my part by taking the day off from work and playing the obsessive paparazzi mom.)

We also also got an epic beach trip in, where even this guy had
some fun.
And who can forgot the breakfast bagel dates!
Oh man---and that was just the end of the school year!
