mid-September

I accidentally ate on a toy plate tonight, because Theo has been slyly adding all of his play kitchen gear to our real kitchen gear.  He is very good at it---everything is in the right area for its purpose.

He is a full-blown curious, talking child now.  We can have conversations and he can express what's inside his head.  It's only been like this for a while, so it's overwhelming and thrilling.  He's a good one--we can tell now that he shares his thoughts with us.  He wants to share with his best friend, Piper.  He feels bad when he hits us.  He's excited for Christmas.  He has ideas about where we can park the car when the parking lot is full.  He does not want to use the potty.  It's like we've been waiting for 3 years to get to know him.
This summer was awful and there is no sense in fully recapping it.  I'll just focus on the good parts--we soldiered on and took care of kids and life managed to somehow happen, but I'm really glad it's over.

I'm working full time and Natan is on a modified, part-time schedule in order to take paternity leave.  This fall is filled with a lot of work--finishing summer projects, applying to do a million different things that might take us out of the bay area next summer or might have us staying for a few more years, cross-stitching space objects, kids, dealing with the heat waves, buying a selfie stick, pondering the purchase of a scamp, the usual.
