We went to the Nor Cal Ren Faire again this year and made a startling discovery: going two years in a row makes the faire lose its magic. We love it there! Jousting, turkey legs, ample cleavage, fencing, faerie art! Honestly, what's not to love about that place. But the thing is, it's exactly the same from year to year, so if you don't mellow out for a season or two and put some distance between yourself and the event, then you remember too much. There is nothing unexpected. I think all of the booths were even in the EXACT same places as last year. Nonetheless, we went, ate food, watched belly dancers and saw awesome t shirts.
